Last Friday, the Year 11 Geography ATAR class visited the Perth Hills Discovery Centre in Mundaring as a part of their second in-depth study on Natural Hazards. Students learnt about bushfire behaviour, the devastating Wooroloo fires in 2021 and conducted fieldwork in two bush sites, one of which had undergone a prescribed burn. After a well-deserved lunch break in the sun, students finished their day by completing a bushfire assessment of the different buildings at the facility and found the overall site to be in extreme bushfire danger, should one impact the area. Overall, the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all, including Ms Yeo who kindly accompanied our class on the day.
