This year’s Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea was attended in record numbers by our Year 12s and their mums on Thursday afternoon. The weather was perfect for an afternoon where our mothers were spoilt with the delicious catering from our wonderful canteen and entertained with fun games and the photo display, prepared by Mrs Collins and Mrs Iacusso. The Canteen Quad was transformed with the help of Mr Mammotte and the Community Relations Committee. Thank you to all of these people for their assistance in making the afternoon such a success.
It is so nice to see the relationship between mother and child and the bonds that they share. I asked our Year 12s to tell us some things about their mums – the responses were so heartwarming, below are just a sample of the beautiful comments they shared about their mum:
“What do you admire most about your mum?” – “Her generosity” (Elise Clements)
“What is one word that describes your mum?” – “Patient” (Sophie Lee)
“What is the best piece of advice your mum has ever given you?” – “Actions speak louder than words” (Savannah Gitonga).
Wishing all mothers and mother figures in our community a Happy Mother’s Day for Sunday.
Miss Jess Martin
