Year 12 Pastoral Care Retreat

July 18, 2024

The Year 12 Pastoral Care Retreat was held at the Swan Valley Adventure Centre from Wednesday to Friday 26-28 June and was a joyful and memorable experience. It provided students with the opportunity to reflect on their lives, relationships, faith, and future aspirations.

The Year 12’s Theme “Catalysts for Christ”, was explored through various activities that emphasised the importance of our words and the nature of our lives as precious gifts. Fr Mark’s Retreat Mass Homily explained that our time at Chisholm and on Retreat offers a manual on God, moral living and spirituality, much like a safety manual. This gift includes the Word of God, the Bible, with its stories, parables, prayers and prophecies, teaching us about God and ourselves. Along with the Catechism, other teaching documents and the writings of the saints, these resources guide us in living our lives.

To be Catalysts for Christ, we must personally grow in Christ and share the Good News with others. Our Retreat activities centred on achieving this and included: prayer, presentations, reflection, teamwork activities, games and writing affirmation notes between participants, all creating valuable learning opportunities and fun. The Swan Valley Adventure Centre looked after us, provided excellent food and facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Huge thanks go to the staff involved in the Retreat: Ms Martin (Head of Year 12), Ms Millimaci (Deputy Principal – Year 12), Ms Ng, Mr Nuske, Ms Yeo, Ms Campbell, Mr Ryan, Mr Kaye, Ms Milligan, Ms Kastropil, Ms Murray, Mr Williams, Ms McLleney, Mr Bussanich, Mr Allsop, Ms Parlongo, Ms Rodrigues, Mr Panizza, Mr Alagic, Mr Nguyen, Ms Andreatta, Fr Mark Rucci and Mr Ronan McGinniss for their involvement and support in leading such a wonderful Retreat.
