Year 12 Pastoral Care Retreat

July 3, 2025

The Graduating Class of 2025 have spent the past three days on Retreat with their Pastoral Care Advisors and other supporting staff at the Swan Valley Adventure Centre. The Theme for Retreat was “Catalyst for Christ” which reflects the fact that our Year 12s are preparing to enter their last Term at Chisholm and life beyond school. We hope this will involve the faith lessons and Gospel values gifted to them through their time at Chisholm, which they may take out, as Catalysts, into the world and help make the world a better place!

The Retreat was a fantastic time of sharing, feasting, physical activity, presentations, reflections, communal living, games and affirmation. Thank you to all student participants and staff for helping to make it a great success and very memorable experience.

One Session on Year 12 Retreat

Our Year 12s were treated to a guest presentation by the fabulous Madison Heady.

Madison is a highly regarded public speaker and advocate for people living with disabilities.

She was the 2023 Young Western Australian of the Year, a former Catholic College student, daughter of former West Coast Eagles player, Brett Heady and now helps share her message of hope, empathy and respect for the dignity of all people to be cherished. Our Year 12s were welcoming and so appreciative of Madison’s courageous life story, her generous sharing and insight.

“Her story resonated deeply with me. My cousin has cerebral palsy and seeing her strive in life was inspiring. I showed my cousin Madison’s work which motivated her to start going out more and carve her path forward, like Madison did. She is now doing driving lessons, something that seemed impossible before. Madison is the role model we both needed.”
