On Wednesday, we welcomed back the Class of 2025 for their last first day of school. We commenced the day and the year with a Eucharistic celebration during which Father Zyggy blessed the ‘Class of 2025’ badges.
The day was designed to equip our Year 12s with the skills and information for a successful year, with presentations by our Chisholm Staff and various guest speakers. Topics covered included WACE, ATAR, Careers Services, Time Management, Goal Setting, Wellbeing and Nutrition. Students were able to choose which presentations to attend.
The day ended with an ‘Expo’ with Universities, TAFE and Construction and Training Centre providing our students with information about what they offer students post school. A new initiative was inviting members of our Alumni (Class of 2015-2023) back to share their experiences with our current students. The conversations these past and present students had were invaluable. It was a fantastic day and a wonderful way to start 2025.
“After the Mass in the morning, we were taught by Mr Randazzo about WACE and Year 12. We then got to split up into different groups and were given seminars about different topics. These seminars took place in N Block – the new Flexible Learning Centre which everyone enjoyed. I personally went to the Time Management and ATAR seminars and found them to be very informative whilst one of my friends, Jordan Robertson, found the Goal Setting seminar to be very helpful too. We finished the day with Alumni and various universities visiting and answering our questions. Overall, it was a very informative day and thoroughly enjoyable.” – Alexander Jarvis 12K3
