Year 6 Orientation Day

November 29, 2024

On Tuesday, Chisholm Catholic College warmly welcomed over 300 Year 6 students to our campus for their Orientation Day. This exciting event gave future Year 7 students their first opportunity to experience life at Chisholm and connect with their peers in a meaningful way.

The day was packed with activities designed to immerse students in the Chisholm community. They participated in a variety of engaging classes, including Science experiments, Home Economics sessions, Humanities classes and Physical Education activities. These experiences not only gave students a glimpse into the diverse learning opportunities available at Chisholm but also sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for the year ahead.

In addition to formal classes, students were introduced to their new Pastoral Care Groups (PCGs) and enjoyed a tour of the school. This time spent together allowed them to begin forming new friendships and building a sense of belonging within their cohort.

A special thank you goes to our incredible Year 11 Peer Support Leaders, who played a pivotal role in making the day such a success. These leaders guided the Year 6 students throughout the day, answered their many questions and ensured everyone felt supported and welcomed.

Orientation Day is a key milestone in the transition to high school and it was wonderful to see the energy and excitement of the students as they took their first steps into life at Chisholm. We look forward to seeing them again in 2025 as they officially join our College community.

Thank you to all staff, students and families for your support in making this day a memorable one.
