Year 7 First Day

February 2, 2024

On Wednesday 31 January, a group of 306 Year 7s officially began their high school journey. The students braved the extreme heat and were able to transition effectively into Chisholm life. Their Pastoral Care Advisors, Business and IT staff, Library staff and Year 11 Peer Support Leaders guided them through the day in setting up lockers and introducing them to life at Chisholm. The students shared lunch with their Peer Support Leaders and fostered lots of new friendships.

I would particularly like to thank the Year 7 Pastoral Care Advisors and Mrs Fiona Flower (Vice Principal) for all their efforts in making the students welcome and assisting with what can be a daunting day for some. A special thanks must also go to Mr Rendall and the Year 11 Peer Support Leaders who gave up a day in their school holidays to ‘train’ as peer supporters. The Year 11s helped the students immensely with all aspects of their first day. Finally, I would like to thank the Year 10 Assistant Prefects along with the Canteen team who cooked lunch for the Year 7s on their first day.

Congratulations Year 7s on a wonderful start to life at Chisholm!
