On Tuesday 29 August, the Year 7 HASS Enrichment class visited the Western Australian Museum to see the Ancient Egyptian Exhibit. Over the course of the day, the class was able to explore the various artefacts on display that covered such topics as hieroglyphics, burial procedures, jewellery, craft making and the importance of the Pharaohs. However, the exhibit that the class was most excited to explore was the mummies where they were able to read extracts from ‘The book of the dead’, see inside some sarcophaguses and view real mummies. The day was a great success and the students came away with some great ideas for their upcoming project on Ancient Egyptian culture.
