On Thursday 8 June, our Year 8/9 Boys Football team played in the Grand Final of the East Perth Metro Region of the Eagles Cup.

This competition is organised by the Football Commission and our involvement in this competition is the main competition for our Year 9 boys as there is no NAS Football in Year 9.

Mr Ricks and the players have been training hard all term and began their journey in Week 2 against Mount Lawley SHS, whom they defeated. Further victories against Ellenbrook SHS, John Forrest SHS and Aveley Secondary College, meant that Chisholm finished top of the ladder and hosted the Grand Final. Our opponents were Mount Lawley SHS, who finished second.

The team was well drilled and focussed going into the game, hopeful of a victory which would take Chisholm into the next stages of the competition as representatives of the East Perth Metro region.

The game started brightly for Chisholm with some fast-moving football and the team ran out to a comfortable 33-0 lead at the main break.

Mount Lawley showed great resilience and had the first four scoring shots of the second half before Chisholm lifted into top gear and roared away to claim victory 66-9.

We await to see our opponents in the next stage of the knockout competition.

Well done to Mr Ricks and all the players for your achievement in winning the East Perth Metro Region.
