On Sunday 17 October, English students from Year 8 and 9 attended the State Theatre to view Van Badham’s theatrical adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, which they have previously studied in class. The powerful satire was cleverly crafted to showcase three female performers in multiple roles. Both teachers and students found the experience to be entertaining, invaluable and hilarious.
“The play Animal Farm was a modern version of the classic story by George Orwell. It was mind-blowing how three people were able to convincingly play multiple characters. By incorporating digital aspects, they were able to include many funny and entertaining takes on modern media and political issues. This satirical witty play was a great experience and one to remember for years to come.” – Grace Rose and Amy Allen (Year 8)
