Year 9 “Into Adulthood” Homecoming Ceremony

November 27, 2025

On Monday evening, the “Into Adulthood” Homecoming Ceremony brought together PCAs, camp staff, parents, guardians and our Year 9 students for a meaningful opportunity to connect and celebrate their journey. As the culminating event of the Year 9 programme, the evening provided a space for students, parents and staff to share camp memories and explore the key elements that support a young person’s transition into adulthood.

Scottie Wood, from AdventureWorksWA, addressed parents and offered valuable insight into the origins of the programme and its significance in guiding young people on their pathway toward adulthood. Both students and parents were invited to reflect on their own perspectives of adulthood. Parents were also encouraged to recognise their child’s ‘Gold’ or inner genius and to consider what they may need to let go of in order to support their child’s continued growth.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of senior ties to each student by their parent or guardian. This symbolic gesture marked their progression into the next stage of their development and the beginning of their senior years at the College.

We extend our sincere thanks to all families and staff who contributed to the success of the evening and helped bring another year of the “Into Adulthood” programme to a meaningful close. Our students are now well and truly ready for senior school next year.

Head of Year 9
