School libraries are exciting and dynamic places. The old model of ‘silence always’ is long gone. Students can read, study or just hang out in our wonderfully welcoming space. We work hard to respond to our students’ needs, always looking to support their social and academic development, while helping them grow as readers.

One way we do this is by encouraging our users to suggest new titles for our collections. The students love recommending books for us. Our manga section has been largely shaped and grown by the students, who know a lot more about manga than us! The staff assess the requests on criteria such as cost, appropriateness to a Catholic school setting and the likelihood of the book being read by others.

Students can make their requests through the library home page, via a book request slip or by talking to the staff.
