August 20, 2026

On Tuesday night, I had the privilege of attending the Angelico Art Exhibition Award ceremony with members of the Creative Design and Technology Learning Area. This exhibition forms part of the Spirit of the Arts Festival that runs in Term 3 through all CEWA schools.

Chisholm Catholic College is well represented in the Exhibition, with the inclusion of five individual student artworks and a Year 9 group submission. Robyn Healy (Year 10) and Darcy Jordan (Year 11) are to be congratulated for the awards they received at Tuesday’s ceremony:

Robyn HealyHighly Commended in the General Category for 2 Dimensional, 3 Dimensional, Drawing for Year 7-10 students

Darcy Jordan2nd Prize in the General Category for 2 Dimensional, 3 Dimensional, Drawing for Year 11-12 students

Thank you to our dedicated Art teachers Jason Auld (HoLA), Paige Alderdice, Olivia Hauser, Renee Musca and Michael Speechley for their inspiration in encouraging students to express their ideas creatively.

The Angelico Art Exhibition is still open for viewing, with session times listed in last week’s Carolean.

Farewell and Leave

As is the nature of being part of a large community, from time to time we say farewell to staff. During the week we farewelled one of our Grounds staff, Jack Shaw, who has been with the College for just under two years. We thank him for his friendliness and ensuring our grounds are well maintained. We wish Jack all the very best for his future endeavours.

At the conclusion of this week, we say a temporary farewell to Kirsty Powell as she begins parental leave. We wish her and her husband Marq, all the very best for the arrival of their first-born child in early October.

Welcome

We wish to extend a warm welcome to the following staff who have joined us in the last fortnight:

Flora O’Connor who joins our administrative team as HR Assistant, Mel Ballantyne returning to Chisholm as our Workplace Learning (WPL) Assistant and Lorraine Humphrey who is taking up a short-term contract as a teacher within the Health and Physical Education Learning Area.

2027

Families may be aware that CEWA has sanctioned a three-week break in the July school holidays for CEWA schools commencing in 2027. In the coming weeks the College will publish the term dates and pupil-free days for Chisholm, to assist you with your forward planning. Please continue to monitor our social media platforms and the Carolen for this information.

God bless.
