Dear Chisholm Community members,
Welcome back to the new term. It hardly seems possible that we’re already contemplating our final term for 2024, so quickly it has gone by. With it comes arguably the busiest period of the year with much happening on the academic and events calendar.
Many of our Year 12 students have just finished their final round of school exams that commenced during the holidays. With their academic programme effectively now finished the whole year group will take part in a farewell breakfast and their final Graduation Ceremony at the College on Friday 18 October. We all look forward to the opportunity to farewell this latest group of Chisholm graduating students and wishing them well for the future. Our outgoing Executive Director Mr Wayne Bull will be a special guest at this important occasion.
My sincere thanks to Sister Chau and Mr Alagic along with Mr Swindells for their great work with our Vietnam Immersion and their tremendous efforts in staging another highly successful and effective immersion experience. The accompanying staff and all the students who attended are to be congratulated on their dedicated involvement and I hope they once again cherish this valuable and treasured experience.
Term 4 is also a very important part of planning for the forthcoming academic year and calendar as we try to organise the many elements that make up College life and the educational programme for our students across the year groups. Coordinating and accommodating all of these aspects is not an easy task and there are changes that need to be accommodated, from year to year. In some cases, due to increased costs or staffing challenges things that have typically always happened in the past, may have to be discontinued or modified.
As we move closer to the end of term, our set calendar will be published to parents along with start and end dates and our exam periods.
This coming week will see our Practical and Creative Arts Exhibition open on Monday evening with a Grandparents Morning on Wednesday, ensuring that this sector of our community has an opportunity to view the works as well.
I look forward to seeing many of you there.
Mr John Bormolini
Principal
