Year 7 and 8 – Tuesday 28 April
On a day where over 20mm of rain was expected and contingency plans put in place, over 600 students and staff nervously turned up expecting the worst. However, the joyful and positive attitudes of the students must have rubbed off on the weather as we did not record a single drop of rain! This led to a great day of Athletics fun and competition at the State Athletics Centre. Congratulations to the two talented athletes who broke Chisholm records (results below) and well done to House Champions Laurence on taking out the lower school carnival.
Year 9 – 12 – Thursday 30 April
This was the first time the Year 9 students were nominations only and it proved a great success allowing seamless transitions and the opportunity for our student athletes to perform at their best. Aside from the fierce competition on the track (and field) it was great to see a large turn out of Year 12 students for their final carnival and set a joyous mood for the day. Well done to all students who competed and represented the school with pride. Congratulations to the four students who broke event records. The overall Champion House for the senior carnival was Laurence House.
A massive thank you to the PE Department and other staff involved who ensured this event ran smoothly. Good luck to all athletes who will commence training to make the ACC athletics team during Term 3.
