Stellatus – Da Vinci Decathlon

On Tuesday 9 May and Wednesday 10 May, selected students from the Year 7, 8 and 9 Stellatus classes competed in the Da Vinci Decathlon. This competition is designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of students. The competition was held in Winthrop Hall at UWA. Students competed in teams of eight, where they had to work cooperatively to solve a range of problems from 10 different disciplines.

The disciplines they worked on were:

  • Science
  • Maths
  • Legacy
  • Code Breaking
  • Ideation
  • English
  • Art and Poetry
  • Engineering
  • Cartography
  • Creative Producers

Forty-five schools across WA competed with Chisholm Catholic College achieving some pleasing results. The Year 8 team finished eighth overall, Year 9 finished ninth and our Year 7s 28th. Well done to all students who competed.

I would like to thank the following staff members: Ms Goddard for supporting the students on the day, Ms Box and Ms Hayes for their efforts in preparing the students beforehand and Ms Ng for her support on the day and also preparing the students beforehand.
