Round 5 saw the girls travel to Lake Joondalup Baptist College, who are yet another Academy School specializing in Soccer, making this another big challenge for the team.

In a very tense and high-quality game, Chisholm fought back from 1-0 down to hit the lead with one minute to go. To their credit, Lake Joondalup didn’t give up and scored with literally the last kick of the game. A 2-2 draw was the result.

Despite being unbeaten in this tournament, the girls just missed out on qualifying for the next round. It goes without saying that all players (and the Coach!) are incredibly disappointed, but the College should be extremely proud of this team. A group of Years 9-12 players have come together and acquitted themselves brilliantly. To draw against the three Academy teams in this competition is a fantastic feat. In the end, luck played a part and didn’t go our way.

As Coach, I want to sincerely thank the girls for allowing me to be a part of this team and for showing such commitment, skill and sportsmanship during the tournament. Apart from being incredibly capable, they play the game the right way and are a credit to themselves. I’d like to pay tribute to Year 12 students, Tristen Yalung and Zenyi French who are stalwarts of the Chisholm Girls Soccer programme and have played their last games for the College. Go well girls and thanks for being such great players – you will be missed!

The Years 9-11 students have committed to giving it another go in 2027 and I can hardly wait to get stuck in! Thanks again! Great effort in 2026 and good luck to the Senior Boys’ team for the rest of their tournament!
