Congratulations to Mrs Laura Billington, Humanities teacher and Geography specialist, who has been awarded the 2026 Joseph Gentilli Memorial Geography Award by the Geographical Association of Western Australia (GAWA).

The award recognises an outstanding contribution to Geographical Education and is a wonderful acknowledgement of Mrs Billington’s contribution both within our College and to the wider Geography community. Mrs Billington has been a member of the GAWA committee for more than a decade and continues to make a valuable contribution through her classroom teaching, curriculum development, mentoring of colleagues and commitment to Geography education.

Mrs Billington’s enthusiasm for Geography is evident in her work with students and colleagues, and she is a passionate advocate for the subject within our College. This award recognises not only her work in the classroom, but also her broader contribution to Geography education across Western Australia.

This is a significant professional achievement and a well-deserved recognition of Mrs Billington’s sustained contribution to Geography education.
