Last week, a fantastic group of Year 10 girls participated in their first WA School’s Cup Volleyball competition. They demonstrated great sportsmanship, work ethic and skill during the day and managed to place 3rd in the top division in the state.

We had a hard pool to start off in, both Greenwood College and Rossmoyne Senior High School are volleyball specialist schools and we fought hard and managed to finish 2nd in our pool. Elimination finals were another tough fight, going up against the reigning champs from last year that was made up with almost 100% state representatives. We were leading in the first set but unfortunately they beat us in a tight 25-20. Our last game of the day was a well fought game and placed us 3rd, solidifying Chisholm’s volleyball reputation as one not to be underestimated.

The girls were brilliant all day, fighting hard for every point and never giving up. Despite other school’s skills and experience, we held our own and definitely brought it to the tougher games. With two of our own state representatives we were surely not an easy team to beat. I’m so proud of each and everyone of the girls who participated on the day and at our trainings after school since Term 2!

Look out NAS next week! We will be bringing home the flag and maintaining the Chisholm sportsmanship that so many coaches and umpires praised us for on the day and previously.
