On Wednesday, both our Senior Boys and Girls Basketball teams played St Norbert College in the Round 16 game of the ACC Championship. Teams that qualify for this competition have already won their individual sub-association competitions during Term 1. Schools are encouraged to field their best teams for this competition.
Our Senior Boys game was a roller coaster ride straight from the start. It was a tough contest and Chisholm showed a great deal of character and resilience to bounce back from a slow start. The game was decided by just one point 48-47 in favour of Chisholm. The boys will now play Mother Teresa Catholic College in Baldivis on Wednesday 14 May in the Quarter-Final.
The Senior Girls team came up against a strong St Norbert’s team and, as with the boys, showed resilience and character throughout their game. The result did not go Chisholm’s way and we congratulate St Norbert’s Girls team who move to the Quarter-Final stages.
Next to come on Thursday was our Year 9 Girls who also won their NAS competition to qualify for the knockout stages of their ACC Championship competition. They took on Mundaring Christian College, here at Chisholm. The game was keenly contested by two teams who really gave their all out on the court showing real determination. Mundaring pulled away after half time to come away with the victory.
Well done to all three of our Chisholm Basketball teams that competed. The standard is a step up from our NAS competition and I hope that all our students take positives from the experience.
Good luck to our Senior Boys against Mother Teresa Catholic College next week.
