Ms Alderdice and I were able to share in this proud moment with her at the Opening Night last Friday. Angel’s artwork, ‘Hellenic Habitat’, is a large oil on canvas diptych painting that explores themes of Greek immigration, cultural identity, and adaptation. Angel juxtaposes gestural brushstrokes, dripping paintwork and fine details to convey the complexities and beauty of cultural change and the blending of traditions within Australian culture.
